Recorder Lessons FAQ
Can the recorder be self-taught?
Recorder instruction books for beginners are widely available for free or at little cost online or at local libraries. But it is recommended to find a professional teacher that will help you understand and feel the instrument.
When do you start learning a recorder?
age 5
You should wait until your child is at least 5 years old to expose him or her to an instrument. This is due to the fact that they need to be very attentive and patient to realize that they will be making music for the next half an hour.
Is the recorder worth learning?
If you want to learn an instrument, the recorder is a great option. The recorder is a great entry point into the world of music for anyone interested in learning to read music and getting their feet wet in the world of musical creation.
Which is easier to learn flute or the recorder?
Whereas the recorder is more likely to be heard in an early music concert as part of a recorder group, the flute is a standard instrument in symphony orchestras. Due to its accessibility, the recorder is often introduced as a first instrument to primary school children studying music.
